The best alternative to the ER when you have a sudden sprain, strain, or pain that needs orthopaedic attention.
The OrthoAccess walk-in clinic is Maine’s first walk-in clinic for immediate assessment and treatment of sprains, strains, minor fractures, dislocations, and activity or sports-related injuries. It’s conveniently located in the OA Center in Portland, where there’s an on-site X-ray suite for a timely diagnosis. Care is provided by OA orthopaedic specialists.
Faster, less expensive than the ER
There’s no appointment needed. And your wait will be shorter than at the ER. Less expensive, too. OrthoAccess is an extension of OA, so the co-pay is about the same as going to see any specialty physician.
See a specialist first
If you go to the ER, they are likely to refer you to an orthopaedic specialist. So start with us first! OrthoAccess can provide first care and then set you up for follow-up appointments at OA: to get an MRI, to see a surgeon or physical therapists, for a cast or brace or any other orthopaedic service needed.
